Jonathan Adams

HEMS Doctor, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance

Jonathan’s involvement in pre-hospital care began through volunteering with the Yorkshire Medical Response Team and attending regional Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care education events. He now works as a consultant anaesthetist in West Yorkshire and a HEMS doctor with Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. He also serves as a CPD Lead for the Yorkshire Regional Group, helping to plan and deliver multidisciplinary pre-hospital education across the region.

Jonny Bush

Advanced Paramedic in Critical Care, Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Jonny provides clinical leadership and supervision to Specialist Critical Care Paramedics working across rapid response vehicles, HEMS and HART. His work focuses on supporting the delivery of advanced pre-hospital care in complex environments and developing clinicians through operational supervision, education and mentorship.

Dr. Mark Clayton

HEMS Doctor, East Anglian Air Ambulance

Mark delivers pre-hospital critical care with East Anglian Air Ambulance and as a solo responder for the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme. He has volunteered with St John Ambulance for more than 30 years and now serves as an Event Clinician and County Clinical Lead, having helped establish the charity’s enhanced-care provision. Beyond frontline practice, he works as a Medical Examiner, provides expert evidence to HM Coroner and sits on the Association of Anaesthetists SAS Doctor Committee. Outside medicine, he is a committed runner and an enthusiastic Lego collector.

Dr. George Hamson

Anaesthetic Trainee, West Yorkshire

George is a West Yorkshire anaesthetic trainee with a longstanding interest in pre-hospital emergency medicine. Alongside his anaesthetic training, he volunteers with the Yorkshire Medical Response Team, gaining experience in delivering emergency care outside the hospital environment.

Nathan Hone

Resuscitation Officer, South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching

Nathan joined the East of England Ambulance Service in 2015 and qualified as a paramedic in 2018. He currently works as a Resuscitation Officer, with clinical interests in resuscitation, critical care and motorsport medicine, particularly rallying and off-road events. He has completed the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care and plans to return to full-time pre-hospital clinical practice.

Dr. Gregory Leary

Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team

Alongside his work as a GP Partner, Gregory provides clinical care during rescue operations with Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team. He also leads the training and development of the team’s Remote Rescue Medical Technicians, supporting the delivery of safe and effective care in remote and difficult-to-access environments.

Dr. Matthew Nelson

Motorsport Doctor, Silverstone Circuit Medical Team

Matthew’s pre-hospital experience spans retrieval, motorsport and event medicine. He spent a year with the Central Australian Retrieval Service, delivering critical care across remote and austere environments, and volunteers with the Yorkshire Medical Response Team. He also works with the British Touring Car Championship and Silverstone Medical Team, and serves as Secretary of the Yorkshire Regional Group of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care.

Dr. Andy Pountney

Chair, British Association for Immediate Care

Andy has been involved in pre-hospital care across Yorkshire for more than 20 years, with founding, clinical, leadership and governance roles spanning YAS BASICS, HEMS, the Yorkshire Medical Response Team and the MERIT Critical Care Team. He previously served as Chair of the Yorkshire Regional Group and as Associate Medical Director for Critical Care with Yorkshire Ambulance Service. Nationally, he is Chair of the British Association for Immediate Care and a former Vice Chair of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care. His wider experience includes major incident management, event medicine, sports immediate care and pre-hospital education.

Dr. Heather Reynolds

Senior Anaesthetic Registrar, South Yorkshire

Heather has responded with the Yorkshire Medical Response Team since 2018 and now supervises trainees, having previously served as Education Lead. She has completed senior HEMS and PHEM fellowships and is a BASICS Course Director, contributing to several national pre-hospital courses. She is External Medical Advisor to Lowland Rescue UK, contributes to JRCALC guideline development, and works in motorsport and expedition medicine.

Jon Richards

Specialist Paramedic, Critical Care, Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Jon is President of the Yorkshire Regional Group Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care and provides advanced pre-hospital critical care across Yorkshire. His professional interests include resuscitation, major incident management, event medicine and pre-hospital education. He has supported medical delivery and operational planning at major national and international events. Through regional leadership, education and collaboration, Jon works to strengthen clinical practice and develop pre-hospital care across Yorkshire.

Paul Richardson

HART Training & Assurance Manager, Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Paul leads the development, delivery and assurance of specialist training for Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) personnel, ensuring operational readiness for complex and high-risk incidents. With extensive experience in emergency response, multi-agency interoperability and specialist education, Paul is passionate about developing resilient, highly skilled teams capable of delivering safe and effective patient care in challenging environments.

Wez Roberts

Advanced Paramedic Clinical Lead, Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Wez has a background as a Critical Care Paramedic and is part of the Yorkshire Medical Response Team’s Senior Leadership Team. His main clinical and academic interest is pre-hospital resuscitation, in which he has undertaken research and delivers teaching. He also supports the training and development of new pre-hospital practitioners.

Dr. Estelle Tan

Senior Anaesthetic Registrar, West Yorkshire

Estelle’s specialist interests include paediatric anaesthesia, pre-hospital emergency care and simulation-based medical education. Alongside her anaesthetic training, she works as a Paediatric Retrieval Registrar with EMBRACE, providing specialist care during the transfer of critically ill children. She has taught on numerous trust-wide and regional multidisciplinary simulation courses and is currently completing a Diploma in Medical Education. Her work focuses on human factors, crisis resource management and the use of evidence-based simulation to improve patient safety and clinical performance.

James Whittaker

Critical Care Paramedic, Yorkshire Ambulance Service

James has worked in pre-hospital critical care, hazardous-area response and motorsport medicine across several ambulance services. Alongside his operational work, he teaches on the ATACC course and a range of military medical programmes. He completed the Diploma in Immediate Medical Care in 2024 and now supports clinicians preparing for the examination. His professional interests include major incident response, human factors, simulation-based education and the delivery of critical care in complex pre-hospital environments.

Don Willey

Incident Controller, Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team

Don works as a fluid dynamicist for a West Yorkshire engineering company and has volunteered with Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team for nearly ten years. During that time, he has attended more than 150 incidents. He has recently qualified as an Incident Controller, taking responsibility for coordinating rescue operations, and also serves as the team’s Equipment Officer.

Dr. Isla Wormald

HEMS Doctor, Lincs. & Notts. Air Ambulance

Isla is a senior Emergency Medicine registrar in South Yorkshire with a special interest in Mountain & Polar Medicine. She has experience of mountain rescue & supporting the GB Junior Lead Climbing & Bouldering Teams & expeditions to Antarctica, the Arctic, China, Nepal & Tanzania. Isla is Medical Advisor for Shackleton Challenges & teaches wilderness medicine internationally. When not wearing scrubs or a flight suit, she has a passion for travel, sleeping under canvas & human-powered adventures.

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service

Members of Bradford Station(s)

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service responds to fires, road traffic collisions, major incidents and other emergencies across the county, working closely with ambulance services, police and NHS partners.Their interactive session will demonstrate major incident management, including scene assessment, casualty management and multi-agency working. Delegates will take part in a realistic Ten Second Triage exercise, rapidly assessing casualties, prioritising treatment and delivering immediate lifesaving interventions.
